About Chima
Chima Akuchie believes Alberta is a place where hard work, strong families and vibrant communities create opportunity for everyone.
After immigrating to Canada, Chima built his life through determination, perseverance and a commitment to serving others. Like many families in Calgary-East, he understands the challenges of building a future, balancing a household budget and creating opportunities for the next generation. Those experiences continue to shape his belief that government should create the conditions for people to succeed while remaining responsible with taxpayers' money.
Today, Chima works in the disability sector, where he advocates for individuals and families every day. His work has given him a deep appreciation for the importance of accessible health care, strong community supports and compassionate leadership. Whether helping someone navigate services or supporting caregivers facing difficult circumstances, Chima believes every Albertan deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and compassion.
A devoted husband and proud father of three, Chima understands the everyday realities facing families across Calgary-East. Rising costs, access to health care, safe neighbourhoods and creating opportunities for young people are not abstract policy discussions—they are challenges families experience every day. As a parent, he believes that building a stronger Alberta begins with creating an environment where families can thrive.
Chima is also an active volunteer who believes strong communities are built by neighbours who care for one another. Over the years, he has been committed to giving back through community organizations and local initiatives, building relationships with residents from every background and culture. Calgary-East is one of Alberta's most diverse constituencies, and Chima believes that diversity is one of its greatest strengths. He is committed to representing every resident with fairness, respect and integrity.
For Chima, leadership begins with being present. It means listening to residents, showing up at community events, supporting local organizations and being accessible when people need help. He believes elected representatives should earn the trust of their communities through service, accountability and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of the people they represent.
Chima is seeking the United Conservative Party nomination because he believes Calgary-East deserves a representative who will work tirelessly for the community, advocate for families and help ensure Alberta remains the best place in Canada to live, work and build a future.
Together, we can build a stronger future for Calgary-East.
